Mihai Beniuc (b. November 20, 1907, in Sebiş, Arad County (then Austria-Hungary) – d. June 24, 1988) was a Romanian proletcultist poet, dramatist and novelist. He graduated from the University of Cluj in 1931 majoring in psychology, philosophy and sociology. This was reflected in his writing, particularly the novels. He was the President of the Romanian Writers' Union and a member of the Romanian Academy. His approximately 100 volumes of poetry have been largely ignored after his death, with the exception of his early poems, written before the late 1940's.
