Costache Conachi (b. 14 Octomber 1977, Țigănești, Galați - d. 1849, Țigănești) was a Romanian poet from a family of Fanariot origin, one of the few major figures of early lyrical poetry that precedes romanticism. His poems (that circulated orally for a long time) were published in a 1856 volume. The first critic to appreciate his contributions was G. Călinescu, as previous critics considered him "cloy" and too sentimentalist, although Eminescu enjoyed Conachi's poems.
