Ioan Alexandru Brătescu-Voinești (b. 1 January 1868, Târgoviște - d. 14 December 1946, Bucharest) was a Romanian short story writer and academician noted for his children's literature (more exactly, stories such as Niculăiță Minciună or Puiul). He was initially promoted by Titu Maiorescu. He achieved notoriety with the volumes În lumea dreptății ("In The World of Justice", 1906) and Întuneric și lumină ("Shadow and Light", 1912). He also collaborated with A. de Herz on the play Sorana.
