Ion Gheorghe (b. 18 August 1935, Florica, Buzău) is a contemporary Romanian poet associated with the 1960's generation, neotraditionalism and neo-expressionism. He is also known for his highly controversial studies on Dacian relics and for his ambigous attitude towards the communist regime. His 1966 volume, Nopți cu lună pe Oceanul Atlantic. Scrisorile esențiale (Moonlit Nights on the Atlantic Ocean. The Essential Letters), was considered by Marin Mincu and Octavian Soviany an early pinnacle of experimentalism.
