Ion Mircea (b. 1 September 1947, Sărmaș) is a contemporary Romanian poet and playwright associated with Echinox. He received in 2012 the National Poetry Award Mihai Eminescu - "Opera Omnia". He has been a member of Romanian Writers' Union since 1979. Andrei Pleșu appoints him in 1990 as editor in chief of Sibiu-based magazine Transilvania.
