Stefan banulescu

Ștefan Bănulescu (b. 8 September 1926, Făcăeni, Ialomița - d. 25 May 1998, București) was a Romanian novelist, short story writer and poet associated with magic realism. He is known for the books Iarna bărbaților (Men's Winter) and the unfinished cycle Cartea Milionarului (The Book of the Millionaire), which is set in a semi-fictional village on the Danube named Metopolis.

The library of Slobozia and a college from Călărași are named after him.
