Ioan Es. Pop
(b. 27 March 1958, Vărai, Maramureș) is a contemporary Romanian poet associated with the 1990's generation. His 1994 debut volume, Ieudul fără ieșire (translated as "No Way Out of Hadesburg"), received multiple awards and was reissued in 2009, being considered one of the cult books of contemporary Romanian poetry. Texts signed by him were featured in literary magazines such as Nouăzeci, România literară, Luceafărul, Tribuna, Astra, Transilvania, Vatra, Contrapunct etc.
